Temple Blessings-Maravilhosa!




Two Glorious verses of scripture are found in Malachi...the very last two verses in the Old Testament. They along with 1st Corinthians chapter 15 in the Bible, explain the importance of each child of God and with the restoration of Jesus Christ's original church, we learn how every person who has ever lived on this earth will have an opportunity to accept Heavenly Father's plan of Happiness. We love that not even one will be left out of the invitation to follow Jesus Christ. We love that each of us can decide for ourselves what matters to us most. Vadinho was so excited to learn about the blessings of The Temple.  Elder Benedict helped him understand those scriptures even before Vadinho was baptized on February 12th. Little by little they have spent time learning about his genealogy.  Families are Forever!

   

Vadinho was thrilled that he could take the name of his father to the Temple to be baptized as a proxy for him. We explained that his father would still have the option to accept or reject the gift of baptism that Vadinho was performing on his behalf.  But, he smiled and said, "He will accept because he was a good man."  What precious moments inside the Lisbon, Portugal Temple to witness the Joy of Vadinho this past Thursday March 10th, 2022. There are no words for some moments. It was maravilhosa!  



We were also able to attend a great zone conference while in Lisbon.  It included an early morning session in the Temple with the other Missionary couples serving in Portugal and on The Azores.  After the zone conference we had a special evening with President and Sister Barcellos in their home.  They are gracious and gifted us with such delicious food and wonderful company! 

I can't wait to tell you about Hercinio, but that is for next week, because right now we will prepare his 3rd lesson for this evening.  Love you!

What Joy to hear an Apostle this past weekend as Elder and Sister Neil L. Andersen came to share their hearts in Cape Verde and to dedicate the Cape Verde Temple in Praia.  President and Sister Roberto Oliveira, serving as the President and Directora of the New Cape Verde Temple invited us to attend the dedication and to stay in their home with them for 3 marvelous  days that will last in our hearts forever.  What an experience to see some of the behind the scenes preparations  and wonderment of the Miracle of a Temple in Cabo Verde.  President and Sister Oliveira are much loved by the Cabo Verdianos and as we walked with them we saw that they are much loved by the woman doing laundry, a man in the store, the apartment security guy, the scheduler at the Temple, and everyone in their path...including us. Such Joy to visit with them again!  They treat us like royalty.  We laugh and cry together...as family and best friends. So many of our young frie...

A Sweet Week...

Elise was baptized by her Father, (President Samuel) of our Evora Branch. Our font in Evora is a plastic material stretched over a styrofoam type base...like a hot tub really. We love this sweet family and all of the work they do to help the Evora Branch. Sister Barcellos gave a wonderful talk about Angels (She definitely is one!) at our Zone Conference in Setubel on Tuesday.  She has a wonderful way of inspiring all of us! President Barcellos is a dynamic leader and makes us all want to work even more to teach with our hearts as we share the Great News of the Restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ. We can feel their great love for Our Savior.   President and Sister Barcellos and their family are loved by all the missionaries...including us. We were able to go to the Temple in Lisbon the next day for a Sisters' Conference and a Session at the Temple (with the couple missionairies in Portugal and on the Azores).  So fun to meet some of the new couples that we haven...
